Strange and Cool

The strange:
So two of my buddies, one I met in elementary and the other at UF, have told me on separate occasions that my "stories" are always amusing, funny and interesting. heh, I guess its either how I retain the memory or I actually do lead an interesting life.

The cool:
Lately I've been getting compliments:
- "Look at his arms, they're are huge" - AJ
- "You have big arms" - UB
- "Paul's humble and his arms are really big" - S
- "How did you get so jacked? I saw you only a few weeks ago" - LN
- "I want big shoulders like you" - AJ
- "Nicely done" - JS
- "You're getting too big" - AL
- "Dude, no way you're 145 lbs" - Jay C
- "You are too buff!" - Josh C
- "You are getting huugee too. Been going to gym I see lol" - WM
- "Please let me know when you guys work out and I would like to see how you body-builders work out." - Ray H

and slightly insulting
- "Are you taking steroids?" but I'm sure this person was joking.

All I take is Optimum Nutrition - Whey Protein :)

Side note:
Sold Adnan an iPhone yesterday, he loves it. Next up, Macbook Pro :p
-sighs- I wish I didn't have to leave my friends but my future is important and I must go wherever it takes me...

Side note 2:
Purchased a 3 inch memory foam mattress enhancer with two pillows for $40 shipped on Amazon. I've slept on it for about 5 days and wow! I've had some of the best sleep in years! I'm totally investing in a Tempurpedic mattress in a few years.
Downside is, it gets hot. Time to turn the AC down to 75 :p

Side note 3:
Infected Mushrooms is a most excellent band if you like trance/techno/psychedelic music.

Side note 4:
Amy's coming to visit in about 9 days but can only stay for 4 days. I'll need to plan where to eat so her stay will be worthwhile. :)

Generous or stupid?

Jeff was leaving this afternoon and let me borrow his Weber grill for the next month. I drove to Walmart to pick up a few supplies like a full tank of propane, Fantasik and VisiShot. After I walk out a woman (Jennifer) approaches me and tells me that she lost her wallet, her boyfriend is mad and they have no gas. Her breath smelled of alcohol and she admitted to be slightly drunk from a party. I offered whatever change I had in the car but they claimed to live in Daytona and needed half a tank to get there (~$40). They were driving a (2000?) red Ford Explorer, a definite gas guzzler. I let them follow me to the nearest Kangaroo on 34th and 35th and let them fill up to $40.01. They asked for my number so they could call me and attempt to repay me. I've heard this cry for help many times whenever I go to Walmart during 1am-4am. My gut instincts tell me they won't call or attempt to repay me (Jennifer claimed to be a dancer) but who knows, maybe they'll prove me wrong.

So $40 to complete strangers to help them get home (~2 hours from Gainesville), I wonder how many people have been this generous (or stupid). -sighs- I don't know what to think of myself. I can't sleep because I have so much going through my mind, so many errands to complete tomorrow:
√ drop off check to Bosshardt Property Management which is in north Gainesville
√ deposit rent check
√ ship out 4 packages
√ go to OHLPA and get forms
√ meet up with Shrira and Dallery for letters of rec
√ read 6 chapters of DAT
- register for the DAT
- workout at the gym
- work on personal statement
√ find potential places to stay at Barry
- fill out missing information on FAFSA
√ meet up with potential tenant
√ :(

As of May 25th, 2008 @ 3:40am, the couple has yet to contact me.

First time!

Kir-Sheng, Ed and I went to a shooting range on south 13th this early evening. This was my first time ever holding a handgun as well as pulling the trigger.

We looked around the shop first and Kir decided to purchase an AR-15 which was beautiful. The pistols that caught my eye were the SigSauer P229 Elite ($1069) and SigSauer 1911 ($????) , I was interested in the Glock 19 ($529) as well but not as much as the Sigs.

I tested out two handguns, a Beretta 92 9mm and a Kimber 1911 (.45ACP). Out of the two, I love the 1911 due to the weight and the trigger sensitivity. The slide release was easier to release compared to the P229 Elite but most likely cause its new.

Heading out to the shooting range tomorrow, would like to try the Glock and another pistol (There wasn't much of a selection, possibly about 15 handguns?).

Below is a pic of a P229 Elite:

Kir also mentioned that now would be a good time to purchase a handgun in case (depends on which) a democrat comes into presidency, the prices will increase.

Looks like I'll need to see at least 3 iPhones to purchase this pistol, case, laser sight and extra mags :p

EDIT: Looks like the P220 is a nice choice as well. We'll see tomorrow!

EDIT 2: Went with Kir, Ed and Jay today. We stayed for 2 hours this time but tried out the following: Beretta, Glock 19, Sig P229, ??? and Heckler and Koch .45ACP (USC) rifle.

Bought 2x250 9mm at $50 each and went through it all between 3 people. That's it, I want a 1911 or P229 Elite :p
